单词：

1. likelyadj.可能的，可能发生的；

adv.很可能

造成这个问题最有可能的的原因

Rain is likely in our city today.

今天我市可能下雨。

Weare likely to bevery busy tomorrow.

明天我们可能很忙。

It will likely rain tomorrow.

明天很有可能要下雨。

句型It is likely that... 意思是可能......，be动词也可用seem等系动词替换。

The caris likely to breakdown soon.

=It’s likely thatthe car will break down soon.

这车很可能马上要抛锚。

It is very likely thathe will not agree.

很可能他不会同意。

She may get the job, but it isn’t likely.

她或许能得到那份工作，但是可能性不大。

It is/seems very likely thatit will rain tomorrow.

明天很有可能要下雨。

易混辨析

possible，probable，likely

1）表示可能的形容词possible的可能性最小，指客观上有可能；probable可能性最大，表示很可能，十有八九；likely更接近probable，表示外表迹象表明有可能。如：

It’s possible but not likely/ probable that he’ll come here next month.

他下月有可能来这里，但是不很肯定。

It’s probable, not only possible.

这事多半如此，不只是可能。

2）句型上的异同：

①It is possible/probable/likely +that从句

②It is possible (for sb.) to do sth．

③sb./sth. is likely to do sth．

这三个词中，只有likely可以用人作主语。

She is likely to go abroad.

她可能出国。

possible 和 likely 后面可以接动词不定式，而probable不可以。

It is possible to go to the moon now.

现在有可能登上月球

likely也可以作副词，其他两个词是都形容词。

2. remindvt.提醒，使想起

remind sb. of 使某人想起

remind sb. about... 提醒某人……

remind sb. to do sth. 提醒某人去做某事

remind sb. + that ... 提醒某人某事

经典例句：

3. intend vt.计划，打算，想要

intend to do / doing sth．打算做某事

intend that…… 打算……

it is intended that……

intend sb. to do sth．打算让某人做某事

had intended to do sth．

＝had planned / meant / wanted to do sth．

本打算做某事(表示未曾实现的意图)

be intended for sb/sth. 是为某人/某事物而提供/设计的

be intended as... 打算作为……

be intended to do sth．打算做某事

经典例句：

我不想再见到他。

他们打算明年结婚。

4. recognizevt.辨认出；承认，公认，意识到

recognize sb/sth as/to be… 承认某人 (物) 是……

be recognized as/to be… 被大家承认/被普遍接受是……

recognize that (从句)…　 承认……

I didn’t recognize you in your uniform.

你穿上制服我认不出你了。

I recognized her by her red hair.

我从她的红头发认出了她。

She recognized the song correctly.

她正确地识别出了这首歌。

recognize，know，realize的辨别

recognize强调通过对记忆的搜索，辨认出原来熟悉的人、物、声音、方位等，常指经过一段时间的间隔后又重新认出来。

know 知道，认识， 指相互间十分熟悉、十分了解。

realize 意识到，强调在经过一个过程后的完全了解。强调注意到，了解本质，明白事理。它还有实现(梦想)的意思。
